Toddler Strap Shoes/snow boots.
*These were made to fit my daughter who is 2.5 and in a size 8 shoe. These will fit shoe size 8-9. I will be listing another pattern that is pretty much the same except it will have longer straps and will be longer in the leg part. Supplies:
-Yarn of your color. You can use one or two colors.
-Size H hook
-4 buttons
-Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Stitch markers (optional)
Stitches used:
Ch = Chain
Sts = Stitches
St = Stitch
Sl St = Slip Stitch
Sc = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC2tog = Double Crochet Two Together
*Note: At the end of every round, take out the stitch marker.
Right Foot:
Sole:
-Ch 18
Round 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook (add stitch marker-optional), sc in next 15 chs, 5 sc in last ch. Working down the adjacent side (opposite side) of ch, sc in next 15 chs, 2 sc in last ch; join with sl st to first sc.
Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in same st (add stitch marker), hdc in next 16 sts, 2 hdc in each of the next 5 sc, hdc around, 2 hdc in last 2 sts; join with sl st to first hdc.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same st (add stitch marker), sc in next 18 sts, 2 sc in next 3 sts, sc around, 2 sc in last 2 sts,; join with sl st to first sc.
Round 4: Ch 2, hdc in same st (add stitch marker), hdc in next 20 sts, 2 hdc in next sts, hdc around, 2 hdc in last 2 sts; join with sl st to first hdc.
Sides: (add color of your choice)
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in same st (add stitch marker), sc in each around; join.
Round 6: Ch 2, hdc in same st (add stitch marker), hdc in each around; join.
Round 7: Ch 1, sc in same st (add stitch marker), sc in next 17 sts, (dc2tog) 9 times, sc around; join.
Round 8: Ch 2, hdc in same st (add stitch marker), hdc in next 15 sts, (dc2tog) 7 times, hdc around; join.
Round 9: Ch 1, sc in same st (add stitch marker), sc in next 12 sts, (dc2tog) 6 times, sc around; join.
Round 10: Ch 2, hdc in same st (add stitch marker), hdc in next 10 sts, (dc2tog) 6 times, hdc around; join.
Round 11: Ch 1, sc in same st (add stitch marker), sc in next 9 sts, (dc2tog) 4 times, sc around; join.
Round 12: Ch 2, hdc in same st (add stitch marker), hdc around; join, fasten off. Turn shoe inside out.
Straps:
Round 13: Count 12 from last sl st (where you fastened off at) toward the right, with the toe facing you. Add stitch marker in the 12th st. Add yarn in 12th st. Ch 13, sc in 2nd ch from hook and down ch, sc in same st where your stitch marker is, sc in next 25 (leave 3 sts in front unworked)
Round 14: Ch 2, turn, hdc in same st (add stitch marker), hdc in next 32, skip one sts (this will make the button hole), hdc in next 2 sts. (If 32 is not the correct number, just make sure you hdc around, leaving 3 sts unworked so you can do your button hole).
Round 15: Ch 1, turn, sc in same stitch (add stitch marker), sc around.
Round 16: Ch 2, turn, hdc in same stitch (add stitch marker), hdc next 28 sts, DO NOT HDC INTO THE STRAP!!!
Round 17: Ch 13, sc in 2nd ch from hook and down ch, sc in same st where you started your ch, sc around.
Round 18: Ch 2, hdc in same st (add stitch marker), hdc around. Leave next 3 sts, skip 1, hdc in last 2.
Round 19: Ch 1, sc around, fasten off. Weave in ends.
Add buttons where it will fit the child.
Left foot:
